Web Creation Tools (besides Dreamweaver)

There are many tools available out there to help you make a Web page. They come in all different price ranges, and some run completely online.

Kompozer - This originated as a Linux Web editing tool, but has spread to many other Operating systems, including Windows AND Mac. It is managed by the Mozilla Foundation, which is the same group that brings us the Firefox Web Browser. One nice feature of this option is that is is available for FREE. http://www.kompozer.net/
Google Sites provides an Online tool for managing Web pages that are then hosted for free by Google. These sites are tied to Google though, and cannot easily be moved (at least as far as I know). http://sites.google.com/

What is Dreamweaver?

A very powerful tool for creating basic Web pages, all the way up to very complex Web Sites.
Designed to be easy enough for anyone with just a little web design knowledge, yet powerful enough for very experienced Web developers.

You can see that there are many available options, starting with basic HTML pages, like we did last week, down through active (scripted) pages, on to full Web sites.
